Feminism and its Discontents documents ideological battles waged in the struggle for gay and women’s liberation.
This project explores gender, sexuality, and social movements through the lens of cultural conflict. by bringing together liberal and conservative perspectives, we can better understand the diverse goals, agendas, and actors that shaped the struggle for equal rights.
Educators are encouraged to draw on the site’s resources for teaching purposes. Corresponding lesson plans offer students a dynamic way to engage in deeper explorations of the politics of gender and sexuality during the 1970s.
